The Exterity TVGateway has been certified as a Live TV streaming solution for the Hyper Media Player. TV channels, DVB-T or DVB-S can be transferred directly from the TVGateway to the SpinetiX HMP100 via IP network, making it available for live playback. Swisscom is Switzerland's leading telecoms provider, with 5.4 million mobile customers and around 1.8 million broadband connections. The recently established partnership between the EPFL and the Swisscom labs is aimed at facilitating collaboration and new projects on potential applications. Under this framework a master thesis project is using SpinetiX technology and aims at introducing interactivity to displayed information by means of an SMS system. People in front of the display can send their requests by SMS to the system that will display the results of their query, allowing them to get extra information on their mobile phones about a specific topic displayed. |
